There weren’t many better ways for a footballer to enter the AFL landscape than the way Ashton Moir did in Round 23, 2024.
Moir came on as sub and had an immediate impact, kicking one of the greatest first goals in the history of the game with an overhead kick in the goal square.
That play was just a microcosm of what Moir will hopefully provide in the Navy Blue for a long time, as a dynamic forward capable of quite the highlight reel.
Having always wanted to play on the MCG, Moir’s four-goal performance against Melbourne in Round 19, 2025 - which earned a Rising Star nomination - was the best example yet of the young forward putting it all together.
