Since making his debut in round six 2012, Josh Bootsma has fast become a Carlton fan favourite.

The 19-year-old, who has plenty of run, is frequently greeted with a spirited "Booottsss" by fans when heads out on the field.

And while he's fast on-field, off-field Bootsma likes to go even faster, enjoying mountain biking and movies about fast cars.

We caught with Josh Bootsma and put him On The Spot.

Who was your favourite AFL player growing up?
Probably my dad -  I idolised him when I was growing up. (Josh's Dad, Brad Bootsma, played 23 games with the Fremantle Dockers.)

If you weren't playing AFL, what would you be doing?
Before I was drafted, I was a couple of years into an apprenticeship to become an electrician. By now I would have been fully qualified. I am lucky though, as it's something that I can pick up again if I want to.

Favourite movie?
All of The Fast And The Furious films.

What music are you listening to on your iPod?
Wake Me Up by Avicii.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?
The only holiday I have been on is to Bali and I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping to go with my girlfriend again this year, after the season finishes.

When you're not at the Club, what are you doing?
I recently bought a mountain bike, so Aaron Joseph and I go mountain biking on our days off.

If you had to cook to impress someone, what would you cook?
I'm really good at cooking green chicken curry.

What do you see as the main fashion at Carlton this winter?
Well because it's winter, everyone is into beanies and big coats at the moment – but I'm more of a track pants and big jumper kind of guy!
