Carlton has signed Andrejs Everitt, after trading the 24-year-old and pick 39 from Sydney in exchange for pick 32.

Everitt has played 79 AFL games after beginning his career at the Western Bulldogs through the 2006 National Draft.

A first round draft pick, No.11 overall, Everitt made his debut for the Bulldogs in Round 14, 2007 against Port Adelaide. He was traded to Sydney in 2010 and ran out 20 times for the Swans in season 2013, averaging 15 disposals per game.

At 194cm tall, Everitt will add some height to the Blues, possibly as another “swingman”.

Carlton’s GM-Football Operations Andrew McKay says it’s fantastic to have secured the tall utility.

“Andrejs has shown he can read the play well as a defender, and also has the ability to go forward and cause a bit of trouble,” McKay said.

“We’re really pleased to have Andrejs at the Club.”

Everitt joins Dale Thomas and Sam Docherty as new Carlton recruits after the conclusion of the AFL’s Trade Period.

Carlton will have picks 13, 39, 51, 69, 87, 105 and 123 in the upcoming National Draft.
