THE CARLTON family came together on Friday in a meaningful way, rallying around co-captain Sam Docherty by raising money for the Peter Mac foundation.

Players, staff and fans shaved their heads all around the country, as well as contributing donations to show their solidarity and support for the skipper, who has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Cancer is a cause that affects many families, with one person being diagnosed with cancer in Australia every four minutes.

Peter Mac is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer, and is the home of Australia’s largest cancer research group.

Carlton have a long history working with the Peter Mac hospital, hosting the Peter Mac Cup game every year along with Collingwood, raising money for the foundation in their attempt to lessen the impacts of cancer.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help enable life-saving cancer research and give new hope to all people affected by cancer.

These donations go towards research and resources that can assist in finding a cure for cancers, as well as allowing funding for projects to better understand the disease.

Overall, the donations make sure that Peter Mac can continue providing help to those who need it for many years to come.

At the time of this article, over $130k has been raised for this cause.
