Simpson will balance his new position at the Carlton College of Sport with his existing role as forwards coach for the Carlton AFLW team.

In this new coaching role, Simpson is looking forward to working with young players and sharing his knowledge about the game.

“I can’t wait to join the staff at the Carlton College of Sport and Carlton Academy next year. These are both fantastic programs that offer a unique pathway for young players.

“I’m looking forward to being involved in the development of our next generation of male and female footballers to make sure that they become the best players they can be,” Simpson said.

Head Coach of the Football Development Program, Torin Baker, expressed his excitement at the prospect of Simpson joining the coaching staff at the Carlton College of Sport and Carlton Academy.

“We are really pleased to be able to announce this position for Kade. He will play a leading role in developing our Carlton College playing group as well as coaching and mentoring some of our Carlton Academy players.

“Kade was an assistant coach with both our AFLW and VFL Men’s programs last season and he has a proven ability to be able to connect and develop both female and male players which will be important in his new role. He is a really humble person with a great work ethic and these characteristics helped him forge such a long and successful AFL playing career with our club.”

Simpson will commence his role in both the Football Development Program and Carlton Academy in early 2022.
