KEELEY Sherar has picked up a NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination for her outstanding performance in the Round 4 clash against North Melbourne.

In just her second outing for the Game Changers, Sherar recorded 19 disposals - winning the majority of these in the midfield - to go with four score involvements.

She also received an AFLCA vote for her impressive performance.

Sherar said this gave her the confidence to continue moving forward with her game.

“To get this nomination is really exciting and it only makes me want to work harder for the remainder of the season,” she said.

“It is a great feeling to know that all the hard work is paying off, and I have to thank the entire program for their support since joining the Club.”

Sherar joined the Blues - the team she supported growing up - in the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft and had a strong pre-season which led to her debut in Round 3 against Brisbane.

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says it is fantastic to see such strong progress in new talent.

“We are thrilled for Keeley that all her hard work has led to this recognition in her second game of AFLW football,” he said.

“Keeley has been outstanding since she joined the Club: she applies herself at every session to improve her skillset, she puts in the work and we are happy with the results she has achieved.

“Her efforts against North Melbourne were excellent: she attacked the contest and showed breakaway speed, and this nomination is truly deserved.”
