CARLTON AFLW ruck Breann Moody has pledged her future to the Blues, signing with the Game Changers for a further two seasons.

Moody has elevated herself to one of the premier rucks in the competition and has been in superb form over the past two seasons particularly.

She earnt All-Australian honours in 2021 and last season was regularly seen in the forward line linking up with small forwards and slotting in two goals herself.

Her season-best performance came in Round 6 against Fremantle, winning 30 hit-outs and gathering 11 disposals, six handballs and five kicks.

The 25-year-old rounded off a stellar campaign with career-high totals for disposals (107) and tackles (22), showing her impact was felt right around the ground.

Moody says the future is looking bright at Carlton and she can’t wait to get started ahead of season seven.

“Carlton feels like home and I am excited to be with the program for another two seasons,” Moody said.

“The Club is heading in a great direction with a team of dedicated players, coaches and support staff, and that puts us in good stead heading forward.

“We ended last season on a high and we’ll be doing everything we can to start the next season the same way.

“Its going to be a new-look group, that just adds to the excitement and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro said Moody’s consistency as an elite performer week in and week out was a significant step she had taken in season six.

“Breann’s strengths are elite and she provides us with so many opportunities out of clearances each game,” Munro said.

“She is a constant performer who has a strong connection with the playing group and program as a whole, and it is wonderful that she has chosen to stay for another two seasons.

“She works in seamlessly with our midfield group and we believe that Breann is someone who can take this Club forward as we continue to grow together.”
