CARLTON has named two changes to its starting 22 for Thursday night.

It was confirmed earlier in the day by AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss that Sam Durdin would make his debut for the Club, becoming the seventh new player for the Blues this season in the process.

He is joined in the starting line-up by Matthew Cottrell, who has been elevated after his impressive performance last weekend as the activated sub which saw him finish with 16 disposals and a goal.

They take the place in the side of the injured Adam Cerra (hamstring) and Caleb Marchbank (knee).

It will be a significant occasion not only for Durdin but also Carlton captain Patrick Cripps, who will play his 150th AFL game against Richmond.

He was the unanimous choice for best on ground the last time these two sides faced off, contributing 30 disposals and three goals as the Blues broke a nine-year Tiger drought.

The medical sub will be one of Paddy Dow, Lachie Fogarty, Brodie Kemp and Will Setterfield, who have been named as emergencies.

Thursday night’s contest begins at 7:20pm AEST.
