TOMORROW night will see the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft take place, and for the first time in three years, it will be an in-person event at Marvel Stadium.

Kicking off at 7pm (AEST) on Wednesday 29 June, the draft will be presented by Sarah Olle, Sarah Black and Riley Beveridge.

The first round picks will be televised from the event live with the remaining picks to be announced through the studio show: fans will be able to watch for free through womens.afl and the AFLW official app.

So, what can Blues fans be looking for tomorrow night?

Draft picks

Carlton holds four draft picks that it can use tomorrow night: two first-round selections (picks Nos.17 and 18), one second-round selection (No.49) and one fourth-round selection (71).

This equates to Victorian picks Nos.9, 10, 27 and 38, with most players opting to nominate in their home state given the AFLW competition is not yet full time.

Each team has to take at least one player in the draft, with the Blues planning to fill their remaining four list spots with draft picks.

2021 AFL Women's Draft

In the 2021 NAB AFL Women's Draft, Carlton picked up four draft picks from four different sides through a virtual draft.

Annie Lee was the first pick to join the Game Changers, going at pick No.10 after playing a strong season with the Geelong Falcons, being named across half back in the 2021 NAB AFLW Under-19 All-Australian team.

Lee played three games at the AFLW level in her first season, as well as having some strong impact defensively in the VFLW side.

Selected with pick No.11, Carlton welcomed the athletic Keeley Sherar on the night of the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Draft from the Eastern Ranges.

Sherar had a strong campaign in the backend of the 2022 AFLW season, debuting in Round 3 and earning a Rising Star nomination in Round 4 against North Melbourne, where she collected 19 disposals and played out the game with a fractured hand.

A premiership player for the Oakleigh Chargers, Brooke Vickers was selected with pick No.23 in the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

Playing three games during the 2022 season, Vickers strode in off the half-back flank and produced some impressive moments on debut against the Lions.

She played her debut season as a utility and her three games saw her contribute an average of seven disposals before suffering a lower leg injury that ended her 2022 campaign.

The Game Changers welcomed Imogen Milford with their final pick, selecting the 21-year-old from the Casey Demons at pick No.26.

While Milford is yet to debut for the AFLW side, she developed her game in the VFLW, having a three-goal outing against Grand Finalists Essendon.

Carlton’s previous first-round picks:

2021 - Annie Lee & Keeley Sherar
