MATTHEW Owies will bolster Carlton’s forward stocks with his return to the line-up.

Joining Jacob Weitering into the Blues side, Owies is back in the team for the first time since Round 14, after calf tightness sustained in the warm-up prior to the clash with Fremantle ruled him out of the past fortnight.

He joins Corey Durdin and the in-form Jesse Motlop as Carlton’s small forward contingent on the wide expanses of Optus Stadium.

Owies takes the place of Josh Honey, who has been omitted.

It adds to the change which the Blues confirmed in Thursday night’s extended squad selection which saw Weitering named in place of Brodie Kemp (omitted).

Motlop is one of three Carlton Western Australians named in the team for the trip to Perth, named alongside captain Patrick Cripps and the recently re-signed Zac Fisher.

Carlton’s four emergencies are Sam Durdin, Will Hayes, Honey and Will Setterfield: the medical sub will be announced an hour before the game.

Sunday’s game begins at 4:40pm AEST (2:40pm AWST).
