This weekend, a walkathon will be held at Princes Park in honour of a much loved Carlton Football Club staff member, Sophia Saly, who lost her battle with cancer just over three months ago. Sophia was an integral part of the club, making incredible friendships and is missed by many associated with Carlton.

All proceeds from the walkathon will go to the charity BabyTree Projects, which works to improve the quality of education in rural Cambodia.  Sophia was a founding member of the charity and was at the heart of its activities and plans.  The money raised will go towards the crucial work of fighting for children’s right to access quality education. Something Sophia was extremely passionate about.

The walkathon starts at 10.30am, and from noon there will be a BBQ, entertainment, photo opportunities with Carlton Players, a raffle and numerous silent auction items.

Registration is $20 per person or family, which includes a BBQ lunch and entertainment.
