THE CARLTON Reserves are just a few hours away from their VFL semi final against Brisbane.

After a big victory over the Pies on their home deck last weekend, the Blues will once again venture to enemy territory in an attempt to keep their season alive. The Lions, meanwhile, find themselves in a semi final on the back of their double chance after falling to Southport last week.

The game kicks off at 12:05pm from the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex in Brisbane: in a far cry from last week’s sunny conditions at Victoria Park, the Blues and Lions can expect a wet, rainy affair this afternoon.

For all those following on at home, you can follow the Carlton Reserves on Twitter and Instagram.

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and 7plus in Melbourne, while it’ll be shown on 7mate in Brisbane. Fans can also tune in via the live stream on AFL.com.au or the official AFL app.

Teams were announced yesterday, with Alex Mirkov one of three returning Blues: you can see Carlton’s full team here. The Lions have welcomed established AFL midfielder Jarryd Lyons into the mix, but they’ll be without ruckman Darcy Fort.

AFL-listed players are eligible for selection if they have played six VFL games for the season, and haven’t exceeded 12 games at senior level (unused medical sub does not count towards the game tally). All Brisbane players are available to play given its AFL team is still featuring in the finals series.

Daniel O’Keefe’s side will be looking to replicate the performance and result the last time these two sides played all the way back in Round 1, when the Blues emerged with a 42-point victory. As is the nature of the VFL competition, things have changed dramatically since then, but 13 of the players who featured in that game will represent the Blues this afternoon.
