CARLTON will aim to bounce back from a disappointing loss against Richmond in Round 14 when it takes on Darebin this Saturday.

Back on home territory at La Trobe University, the game is set to be a close battle with the Falcons only sitting one spot ahead of the Blues on the ladder.

Despite an inaccurate day in front of goal, the Blues prevailed by 25 points the last time these two teams met.

It was AFLW-listed players Georgia Gee and Darcy Vescio doing the damage in front of goal, with Gee also named among the best players of the day. Ruck Alison Downie and Nicola Burns were also influential on the field.

Player to watch: Sarah Wright 

Sarah Wright’s dream season continues, named best-on-ground by coach Shannon McFerran after last week’s game.

The Keilor product recorded 11 disposals, laid four tackles and kicked one goal in a well-rounded performance.   

Wright is averaging 11.1 possessions for the season and has shown good signs in her first year at VFLW level.

Opposition to watch: Lauren Arnell

The former Carlton AFLW captain is playing for Darebin this season after spending last year with the Southern Saints. 

She is coming off 16 disposals and four tackles to go along with a goal in the Falcons’ 49-point win over Williamstown.

Arnell is averaging 14.4 touches and has kicked five goals from four games this season.
