THE Carlton Football Club is pleased to confirm Zavier Maher, Michael Lewis, Mitch Moschetti, and Heath Ramshaw have re-signed with the Carlton Reserves for 2023.

Maher solidified his spot in the side in 2022 after a solitary game in 2021, with the midfielder appearing 18 times and averaging 16.5 disposals.

His season-best performance came in the Round 3 game against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium where he showed his worth in the midfield as he collected 29 disposals (19 kicks), two goals and six tackles in the 52-point win

Lewis joined the Carlton Reserves in 2022 after training with the AFL side during pre-season, and the defender averaged over 10 disposals across his 15 games.

The versatile defender - who can play on both tall and small opponents - made his biggest impact in the 37-point win against Greater Western Sydney in Round 18 where he amassed 17 disposals and seven tackles.

Moschetti had to wait until Round 17 to make his maiden appearance for Carlton, but he played in the remaining seven games of the year, including two finals.

He was instrumental in the elimination final win over Collingwood at Victoria Park with 16 disposals and a final-quarter goal for good measure.

Ramshaw made four appearances for the VFL Blues in 2022 and will be looking to further cement his place in the side in 2023.

He ended the season with some solid performances, including 22 disposals and three tackles against Collingwood in the Elimination Final, demonstrating his physicality in the back half.

Carlton VFL Coach Luke Power said it was great that players were looking to continue their time with the Club and saw value in the program and what it offers.

“We’re thrilled to be able to retain some great talent and believe we can work together to continue the development of Zavier, Michael, Mitch and Heath over the coming year,” Power said.

“Zavier had a really consistent season in the midfield, and we’re excited to see him elevate his game even further in 2023.

“Michael made his mark in the backline, and with our strong alignment with the AFL side he’ll continue to get the experience to work with some of our experienced defenders and grow his game.

“Mitch and Heath both broke through in the second half of 2022, and we’ll continue to work with them both to expand their minutes and give them every possible chance to impact the upcoming season.

“These players can see the benefits of the program and environment that we provide, and we’re stoked to have them re-commit to the Carlton Reserves for 2023.”
