CARLTON ruck Breann Moody is staying at the Blues, committing to season eight with the Club.

The inaugural Blue has established herself as arguably the competition’s most dominant tall through the middle of the ground in recent years.

Her signature follows that of skipper Kerryn Peterson and NAB AFLW Rising Star winner Mimi Hill, who have already stated their desire to launch the Club’s AFLW program into a new era.

Moody showcased her class during a fantastic season seven, finishing with a career-high for disposals, hitouts and goals.

The 26-year-old's season-best performance came in Round 8 against Richmond, winning 33 hitouts - her most in a game - while gathering 12 disposals.

A player who continues to learn and grow her ruck craft, Moody was named a dual All-Australian at the end of last season, following her inaugural selection in 2021.

Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd said the Club was delighted to have Moody continue her promising AFLW career with the Blues.

“We are thrilled to have Brea recommit to the Carlton Football Club for season eight,” Lloyd said.

“She is such a versatile athlete, who whilst leading the ruck, has also proven to be an asset up forward, providing support to her teammates.

“Brea is a consistent performer who often leads by her actions. The manner in which she has stepped forward in recent months to want to be a driving force in what we are looking to build here has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see what season eight has in store for her.”
