JESSE Motlop will remain in the Navy Blue for two more years after re-signing with the Carlton Football Club.

The No.27 pick in 2021 enjoyed a promising start with the Club last year, debuting in Round 9 against the Giants.

Living up to his family name, Motlop proved to be an electric injection into the Blues’ forward line, kicking 20 goals in his 19 career games, while earning a Goal of the Year nomination in the process.

Motlop’s forward pressure is a hallmark of his game, ranking 15th in the competition for tackles inside 50 per game – a key area of focus for Carlton’s emerging small forward group.

Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said Jesse has made an impact in his short time at Carlton.

“Jesse has embraced the football club with open arms since he walked in the door at the end of the 2021 season, and we can’t wait to see what’s still to come in the Navy Blue jumper,” Austin said.

“Jesse has a real x-factor, which we saw glimpses of last year, He is dynamic and creative player who can turn a game on its head with a quick goal or a special moment. To back this up though he has terrific work ethic, which was on full display throughout the summer.

“What we also love about Jesse is the energy he brings around the Club. That energy is infectious and he has a great connection with his teammates. We look forward to supporting him on and off the field to become the best player and person he can be.”
