CARLTON has named three inclusions for the King’s Birthday Rivalry Clash with Essendon.

Jack Martin has been named to play his first game since Round 1 following a calf injury.

Ed Curnow is also named in the 22, as is Marc Pittonet, who missed last weekend with a broken hand.

Paddy Dow and Jack Silvagni have been omitted, with the duo - as well as Lachie Cowan and Lachie Fogarty - all in contention to be named as sub. It was previously confirmed on Thursday night that Zac Fisher and Lochie O'Brien had been omitted.

Named at centre half-back, Mitch McGovern will play his 100th AFL game, while the likes of Blake Acres, Alex Cincotta, Brodie Kemp and Jesse Motlop will play their first Carlton game against the arch rival: the Blues are looking to make it four consecutive wins over the Bombers.

Caleb Marchbank (managed) will miss this weekend’s action with soreness, and will be monitored next week at training to determine his availability for Round 14.

The King’s Birthday Rivalry Clash kicks off from 7:15pm on Sunday night.
