The Carlton Football Club can confirm three changes to its playing list following the conclusion of its 2023 AFL season, with Josh Honey, Sam Philp and Lochie O’Brien to depart IKON Park.

O’Brien played 66 games in his six seasons for the Blues, since arriving at the Club at the end of 2017. The 23-year-old made six appearances this season.

Honey played 17 games in his four seasons at the Club, making his debut in Round 12, 2020.

Philp played two games in his four seasons at IKON Park, with injury restricting his ability to push for senior opportunity in the last three years.

Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin acknowledged the efforts of each player.

“Lochie had six seasons at the football club and forged some great relationships during that time, he is a quality character which we know will hold him in good stead for what lies ahead,” Austin said.

“Josh and Sam’s capacity to keep fronting up in the midst of adversity throughout their four seasons at the Club is a great testament to their resilience, which was certainly appreciated by their teammates, coaches and entire football department.

“The Club wishes all three players nothing but the best for the next chapter in their journey.”
