TWO-TIME All-Australian and dual Best and Fairest winner, Brea Moody will remain at the Blues until at least the end of 2027.

It’s a significant signing for Carlton, with Moody regularly featuring in the side’s best as a standout performer in recent seasons.

Establishing herself as one of the most dangerous rucks in the competition, Moody has produced another stellar season as well as spending more time up forward.

Coming to the Blues in 2017, selected with pick No.67 in the inaugural AFLW Draft, Moody has been a consistent performer for the side and has played a pivotal role in the growth and strength of the program.

Showcasing her talent in Round 8 against GWS, Moody had a career-high 46 hitouts and collected 23 disposals while also having 12 clearances.

In recognition of her standing across the competition, Moody has been selected in the All-Australian squad twice (2021 and season seven) for her outstanding ruck craft.

In 2017, she was named as Carlton’s most improved player in year one, which she then followed up - in true Moody form - with a Carlton AFLW Best and Fairest win in 2018 (alongside ex-teammate Katie Loynes).

Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said Moody has had another outstanding season in the Navy Blue.

“Brea has had great on-field success this season. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our young side and lifts those around her,” Naulty said.

“Brea is, and will continue to be, an important leader at the Club for many years to come. She has played an important part in driving consistent elite behaviours and a positive culture within the team. Brea leads by example and understands what we stand for as a club and lives out these values each day.

“Brea has shown versatility and depth in her positions which we have utilised throughout the season, moving her up forward. We are lucky to have two talented rucks on our list, in Brea and Jess Good, with Brea’s move complimenting the duo’s positional combo.

“Her best football is ahead of her, and we are looking forward to seeing her grow and build her craft even more.”
