MATT Duffy will make a long-awaited VFL debut as one of four inclusions for the Carlton Reserves.

One year and nine months after he was announced as a new rookie alongside Rob Monahan, Duffy will play his first game after recovering from an ACL injury which ruled him out of the 2024 season.

Playing alongside Monahan across half back, Duffy will also have a Melbourne Mother’s Day treat, with his mum extending her trip to Australia by a week to watch her son in action.

Duffy is joined by AFL-listed veteran Sam Docherty as an inclusion, who was the best player on the ground in the VFL Blues’ win a fortnight ago.

Will Hayes also returns to provide some run and carry for the Blues, while there’s another VFL debutant in the form of Stirling Phipps-Parsons.

Phipps-Parsons comes into the previously announced side in place of AFL emergency Matthew Carroll, who has been withdrawn from the VFL team for Round 7 action.

Jaxon Binns and Francis Evans come out of the Round 6 VFL side after their performances in the AFL win on Friday night, while Archie Stevens and Dane Harvey also won’t feature.

The game will be broadcast on Channel 7, with the likes of Jordan Boyd, Hudson O'Keeffe and Marc Pittonet all looking to continue their strong recent VFL form.
