THE CARLTON Reserves have made four changes to its team to take on North Melbourne at IKON Park today.
Kicking off at 4:05pm after the AFL clash between the two sides at the MCG, the Blues have been able to recall a young defender for his first game in six weeks, with Lachie Cowan to return from a hamstring injury.
On the back of a breakthrough year in 2024, Cowan has been restricted to six senior games so far this year plus one VFL game back in Round 5, but returns as one of three-AFL listed inclusions for the VFL Round 13 clash.
Joining Cowan are Will White and Lewis Young, who were both travelling emergencies in Perth last weekend and missed the resounding 86-point win over the Northern Bullants.
The versatile Young has been named in the backline alongside impressive youngster Harry O’Farrell and the in-form Ethan Phillips, while White - who was recruited from the Carlton Reserves - will add some added zip as a small forward.
Rounding out the inclusions is ruckman Flynn Riley, who returns for his second game of the year after an impactful debut against Box Hill back in Round 1.
Riley’s return coincides with the loss of Marc Pittonet due to AFL selection, while Ollie Badr, Dane Harvey and Luke Nelson (omitted) make way.
Looking for their third straight win, Carlton’s game with eighth-placed North Melbourne is a return clash, with the two sides meeting back in Round 4 where the Blues fell by an agonising two points in a back-and-forth battle at Arden Street.
Today’s game starts from 4:05pm and will be broadcast live on the AFL website.
