Loving playing together already.
Carlton father-daughter pair Abbie and Sophie McKay each achieved a milestone on Thursday night's AFLW season opener at IKON Park.
In her AFLW debut, 19-year-old Sophie produced 11 disposals as she warmed up to the fast-paced scene of the AFLW.
Her skills as a hard-running forward with offensive and defensive attributes was on full display, giving Blues fans plenty to be excited about.
By her side was sister Abbie, who registered her first game as Carlton's captain in her eighth season of AFLW - and the Blues' 24-point win over the Pies to start off the season created a memorable occasion for the McKay family.
The pair spoke to Channel 7 post-match, with Sophie saying her debut was about adapting to the speed of the game, while having the absolute time of her life.
"I can't explain it: I'm just happy to get one on the board to start the season off well, it's really exciting," she said.
"We have 10 new players in the side this year, so a lot of new players. But it makes for a really exciting game and we're absolutely loving playing footy at the moment."
The lineage of the McKay family runs deep, with their father Andrew playing at Carlton for 11 years, winning a premiership in 1995 before captaining the side and winning a best and fairest in 2003.
Now with both sisters playing for the Club, it was a special moment for the whole family. Their brother Charlie wore a guernsey with the number 555 to support both sisters from the sideline.
"I think Carlton are probably a bit sick of our family that's for sure, we linger," Abbie joked.
"It was very special, Soph did a great job for her first game and she's going to be a great player. I'm excited for her and I love playing with her, it's awesome."
"We organised that, The Carlton Shop were very nice to be able to do that for us (for Charlie), he loves it", Sophie added.
"I think we can both agree, Dad is just our dad. He's really supportive: if we ask he's more than happy to give advice, but he's just our dad."
