Carlton’s Brodie Kemp will continue in the Navy Blue until at least 2027, signing a two-year deal to remain with the Club.
Regarded for his versatility on the field and character off it, Kemp's contract extension takes him to a seventh and eighth season at IKON Park in a journey which has been defined by his determination.
The defender-turned-forward came off a great 2024 season - his most consistent at the Blues - playing 21 games. It also saw him make the move to the forward line late in the season, solidifying his new role with a four-goal, six-mark and 12-disposal game against the Eagles.
Starting 2025 inside 50, Kemp impressed in the new position, including a breakout game in Round 3 where he kicked a career-high five goals against the Western Bulldogs.
Unfortunately, Kemp’s season was cut short after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Round 5, sidelining him for the remainder of the year.
Affectionally known as ‘Kempy’, he was selected at pick No.17 in the 2019 AFL Draft, making his debut for the Blues in Round 22, 2021 against Port Adelaide.
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said the Club was pleased to offer the versatile talent another opportunity at the Blues.
“We see a lot of promise in Brodie, so to have him re-sign is a real positive. He is coming off a consistent 2024 and was really finding a place in the forward line,” said Austin.
“Whilst we all felt for Brodie after his injury, we can’t fault his diligence and determination during a tough period. He has really attacked his rehab, so today’s announcement is a real testament to his positive mindset and desire to be the best player he can be.
“Brodie’s willingness to play whatever role asked of him tells you a lot about his character and why he is such a loved member of the group: we are excited to see Brodie continue to grow his game.”
