Three exciting Blues have been recognised for their outstanding seasons thus far, having been named in the 2025 AFLW 22under22 squad.
After impressive 2025 campaigns, Poppy Scholz, Sophie McKay, and Keeley Sherar have caught selectors' eyes.
All three youngsters have featured in every game so far this season, with the trio presenting as a dynamic threat in the Navy Blue.
Taken at Pick No.6 in last year's draft, Scholz has been tremendous in the forward line, kicking nine goals to Round 10 and receiving a Rising Star nomination in Round 6 this year.
Not just influential on the scoreboard, Scholz's ability to attack a contest - taking 29 contested marks so far in her debut season - has boosted her side's efficiency inside 50 in 2025, as she becomes one to watch over the next few years.
Also monumental in her first season, McKay has come into her own in the forward line, sitting as the Blues' leading goal-kicker after Round 11, booting 12 goals this year.
McKay's speed around the ball and clean ball usage has held her in good stead in 2025, having also notched up a Rising Star nomination in Round 4.
The pair work superbly in tandem, and with the established talent of Sherar added to the mix, the trio have proved hard to stop.
Arriving at IKON Park in the 2021 AFLW Draft, Sherar has been a force to be reckoned with, particularly after a breakout season saw her earn a maiden nomination in the All Australian squad in 2023.
In 2024, Sherar won the Carlton Best and Fairest award, and now, she makes her third feature in the 22under22 squad after a stellar season in the Navy Blue.
With her agility and hunger for the contest a real strength of her game, Sherar has averaged 18.3 disposals and 5.3 tackles this season, as well featuring in all 11 games so far.
