FOUR MORE to call IKON Park home.
The Carlton Reserves have continued their signing spree, confirming the commitment of four players who have committed to the Blues’ VFL program in 2026.
In doing so, the Blues have welcomed four seasoned bodies to complement a youthful, exciting list, with the quartet having a mix of VFL and country football experience.
Jack Sammartino crosses to the Carlton Reserves from Box Hill, where he played six games in 2025. His debut game was against the Blues in Round 1, which he followed up with 14 disposals, six tackles and a goal in Round 2 against North Melbourne.
He featured for Banyule at local level last season, being coached by Damian Truslove, who he now links up with at the Blues.
Joining is another former VFL Hawk in Jed Rule, who featured for Box Hill in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Kicking four goals on debut back in Round 1, 2023, Rule produced 11 goals in eight games in the state league competition, having also represented Old Carey in the VAFA.
Will Reinhold also returns to the VFL competition, with the new Blue arriving from Temora after a previous stint at Port Melbourne.
With two Farrer Football League best and fairest medals under his belt, the strong midfielder played 11 games for the Borough in 2022.
Rounding out the Blues’ four new signings is Jack O’Sullivan, who arrives from Uni Blues.
The brother of North Melbourne’s Finn and second cousin of Carlton gun Sam Walsh, O’Sullivan brings extra physicality to the Blues’ VFL midfield, having also previously played for Koroit.
Carlton VFL Senior Coach Damian Truslove said the four signings were part of a targeted push for the VFL Blues.
“We’re really excited to have the two Jacks, Jed and Will commit to our program for 2026,” Truslove said.
“Coming into this off-season, we had a pretty clear focus to add some mature bodies to support both our AFL and VFL players. All four bring exactly that.
“They’ve brought different strengths to our program as soon as they walked in the door, and to have some VFL experience in there is a really promising thing.
“We think they’ll complement the announcements we’ve already made in terms of who has re-committed and who have arrived at the Club already: we’re looking forward to seeing what they can produce for us.”
