CARLTON has named its extended squad of 26 for Sunday’s clash with Melbourne.

In the Blues’ first day game of the season, the home side has named four potential inclusions for the Round 3 clash.

One of those changes was confirmed earlier on Thursday, with the news that Talor Byrne would be making his AFL debut.

The small forward joins a youthful contingent in Navy Blue, although one who won’t be out there this weekend is Cooper Lord.

Lord (illness) was unable to train in Thursday’s main session and won’t be available for selection this week.

The Blues’ remaining potential inclusions are Blake Acres, Jordan Boyd and Francis Evans, who could respectively return for their first games of the campaign this weekend.

While the team for Sunday will be confirmed on Friday at 5pm, it’s shaping up that Mitch McGovern will run out for his 100th game in Navy Blue.

In doing so, he will get his name on the No.11 locker, seven years after debuting for the Blues in Round 1, 2019 following his trade from Adelaide.
