IT'S MORE than a quarter of a century ago now, but few individual performances before or since carry the same clout as Anthony Koutoufides’ masterclass against North Melbourne in Round 11 of 2000.

In what was a follow-up to Carlton's 1999 Grand Final loss to North, 'Kouta' took it upon himself to rewrite the narrative at Princes Park. What followed was a display of sheer athletic dominance many critics still cite amongst the greatest of all individual performances.

Koutoufides completed his 100 minutes of footy with mind-blowing numbers - 17 kicks, eight marks, 21 handballs and five goals - as an on-ground tour de force in midfield, up forward and down back.

The No.43's showing truly reinforced his status as the League's quintessential "prototype" player - an unstoppable blend of height, speed and vertical leap.

To this day, Koutoufides's one-man show versus the Shinboners remains a definitive moment in Carlton lore - when one man was enough to bring down an opposition powerhouse.
