The Carlton Football Club can confirm that Ash Naulty has stepped away from his position as Head of AFLW.

After five years at the Blues Naulty made the decision to take some time away from the game with his young family before deciding on his next career opportunity.

Naulty has held various positions at the Club, ever since arriving through the Carlton College of Sport in 2020.

During his time at the Club, Naulty oversaw significant progress in the AFLW program, including the shift from night training to becoming the first club to train exclusively during the day, and the move to employ three assistants and additional support staff full time.

“I have had an incredible experience at the Blues and felt nothing but the best support from across the whole Club and especially, more recently from Graham and Chris,” Naulty said.

“Since being at the Blues there has been considerable change across both the Club and the league and it is truly an exciting time for the AFLW.

“Watching the Club and our program evolve, particularly our people and our players, has been a real privilege. I’m incredibly proud to have played a role and seen our people flourish, to have new exciting talent come into our Club along with our key players committing long term.

“I leave the Blues with genuine lifelong friendships, countless highlights and gratitude for the opportunity I have had here and for the Club that made this all possible.

“At this time in my life I just felt it was time for a change. I wish everyone the players, staff and the wider Club nothing but the best heading into the season and cannot wait to cheer on from the stands.”

General Manager of Football Chris Davies thanked Naulty for his time at the Club.

“Stepping into a program with a newly appointed coach and a fresh group is never easy, but Ash and those around him have worked tirelessly to build an elite program underpinned by professional standards,” Davies said.

“We congratulate Ash on all he has achieved with the group and wish him and his family all the best for the next chapter.”
