Carlton has announced a three-year partnership with Specialized Solar & Electrical welcoming the company as the Club's official sustainability partner.
As part of the partnership, Specialized Solar & Electrical will deliver an additional 223kW SolarEdge solar PV system with power optimisers, alongside a commercial Viessmann electric hot water heat pump system replacing the Club's existing gas-fired hot water plant.
The upgrades will significantly reduce IKON Park's reliance on fossil fuels, lower operating costs and cut carbon emissions by an estimated 235 to 260 tonnes of CO₂e per year.
The initiative forms a central pillar of Carlton's inaugural ESG Plan, launched earlier this year, marking a significant step in the Club's push toward 100 per cent renewable energy at IKON Park and a 25 per cent reduction in carbon emissions across Club operations.
Carlton CEO Graham Wright said the partnership demonstrates a meaningful commitment to a more sustainable future for the Club.
"Expanding our solar capacity at IKON Park represents an important step in improving our sustainability as a Club,” Wright said.
“Earlier this year we launched our inaugural ESG plan, a proud initiative which sets a clear roadmap for where the Club wants to get to, and we are working towards making a measurable difference.
“We are excited to welcome Specialized Solar & Electrical to Carlton and look forward to the positive impact this partnership will deliver.”
Specialized Solar & Electrical Managing Director Anthony Igmen said the partnership is about much more than renewable energy.
"We're incredibly proud to be joining Carlton Football Club as its official Sustainability Partner," Igmen said.
"This partnership represents far more than the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure. It's about helping one of Australia's most iconic sporting clubs build a more sustainable future through practical electrification solutions that reduce emissions, improve energy resilience and create long-term value.
“Together, we're demonstrating how organisations can take meaningful action towards decarbonisation while delivering real environmental and economic outcomes for their members, supporters and the wider community.”
