A PAIR of Carlton young guns have been nominated in the AFL Players’ 22under22 squad.

Presented by Intrepid, it was no surprise to see that the Blues’ two emerging stars have made the squad.

Two of the favourites for the Telstra AFL Rising Star award, Jagga Smith and Harry Dean can be selected in the final side.

VOTE FOR JAGGA SMITH AND HARRY DEAN NOW!

Smith hasn’t missed a game all season, and on the back of the Robert Walls Medal-winning performance on the weekend, has well and truly stamped himself as one of the outstanding young players in the competition.

Smith’s 129 score involvements from his first 20 games is the joint-most on record alongside Geelong champion Joel Selwood, with Smith already becoming a key piece of the Blues’ present and future.

At the defensive end of the ground, Dean has been exceptional in his first season of football, taking some high-profile scalps as an 18-year-old key defender.

Growing in stature every single week, every Harry Dean act has been met with rapturous applause from the Carlton faithful. He received his Rising Star nomination in Round 12 against Geelong, while his first goal in AFL football was as memorable as they come against Brisbane.
