After naming its extended squad yesterday, Carlton has confirmed its final team to take on St Kilda in Sunday’s AFLW season opener.

It’ll be a mix of familiar faces for the Blues as well as three new ones, with the Club confirming on Thursday that there would be three Club debutants - Brooke Boileau, Nell Morris-Dalton and Claudia Whitfort.

The Blues will be able to call on the experience of Harriet Cordner, Gab Pound and Darcy Vescio down back, while Whitfort in particular adds to the Blues’ midfield group alongside captain Abbie McKay and vice captain Mimi Hill.

In the forward line, Morris-Dalton creates a new tall combination with Tara Bohanna and Poppy Scholz, with the Blues hoping for some slick ball movement under the roof in their first game at Marvel Stadium.

Ahead of Round 1, Mimi Hill is joined by AFLW Senior Coach Mathew Buck and young forward Poppy Scholz.

Lily Baxter, Kiara Bischa and Aisling Reidy have been confirmed as emergencies.

Sunday’s season opener kicks off from 4:35pm AEST and will kick off a Marvel Stadium double header, with the AFL game to follow later that night.
