Carlton’s George Hewett will reach another milestone on the weekend when he runs out for his 100th game in Navy Blue.
Five years after crossing to the Blues as a free agent from Sydney (where he’s also a 100-gamer), Hewett will make it a century of Carlton games when the Blues take on the Dogs this Sunday.
A key piece of the Blues’ midfield puzzle ever since arriving, Hewett made his Carlton debut in Round 1, 2022, kicking a goal and accumulating 28 disposals in a drought-breaking win over Richmond.
Overcoming a back injury late in his first season, Hewett has been the epitome of consistency for the Blues, playing 22, 22 and 23 games across 2023-2025 which ultimately led to a John Nicholls Medal last year.
He becomes the third player to get his number on the No.29 locker, following on from Simon Beaumont and another former John Nicholls Medallist in Heath Scotland.
Universally respected and loved by all those who wear Navy Blue, it’ll be a special occasion on the weekend when Hewett reaches another landmark in the game.
