TUESDAY night marks the beginning of awards season. 

A host of Blues are hoping to take home some key honours at the AFL Awards night on Tuesday night, which will be broadcast live on FOX Footy from 7:30pm.

Here's which AFL Awards could be on the way to IKON Park come the end of the night.

Telstra AFL Rising Star

Jagga Smith, Billy Wilson, Harry Dean, Talor Byrne

Carlton has as much of a chance as anyone to have the 2026 Telstra AFL Rising Star, given the Club’s four nominees is the most of any team this season. The Blues have arguably the two best chances on the night, with Jagga Smith and Harry Dean entering the night among the favourites for the award.

Smith wasted little time in receiving his nomination, which came in Round 1. Dean’s Round 12 nomination came in the win over Geelong, while Talor Byrne was on the back of a brilliant performance against Gold Coast in Round 20. Wilson rounded out the nominations just yesterday, receiving the nod in the final round of the season.

A Dean-Smith/Smith-Dean quinella would be the first time a club has achieved the one-two in the AFL Rising Star award since 2004.

All-Australian team

Patrick Cripps

Carlton fans will be hoping that Patrick Cripps earns his fifth All-Australian blazer, after he was named in the extended squad on Monday. Now a six-time squad member, selection in the final team for Cripps would see him add to blazers received in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2024.

AFLPA MVP

Patrick Cripps, Jagga Smith, Sam Walsh

Carlton’s midfield trio have been nominated by the Club for the AFLPA MVP, otherwise known as the Leigh Matthews Trophy. Voted on by their peers, it’s an indication of Smith’s first season in football that he’s been nominated alongside his captain and co-vice captain, both of whom have enjoyed outstanding seasons. Cripps is the last Carlton winner of the award back in 2019.

Lachie Cowan

The Robert Rose Award has seen the Blues put forward Lachie Cowan’s name, with the defender enjoying a career-best campaign in 2026. Embodying Carlton’s commitment to ‘Blue Collar’ football, Cowan has played every game bar one in 2026 after missing Opening Round through injury.

AFLPA Best First Year Player Award

Harry Dean

Could Harry Dean become Carlton’s third winner of the AFLPA Best First Year Player Award? The young defender has taken the AFL world by storm, and - in his first season on the list - has hopefully done enough to earn the vote of his peers. Former winners for the Blues are Marc Murphy (2006) and Sam Walsh (2009).
