AT THE opening siren of Carlton’s six-point win over Fremantle, the Blues’ midfield was Jess Good in the ruck; Abbie McKay, Mimi Hill and Claudia Whitfort on-ball; and Erone Fitzpatrick plus Dayna Finn on the wings.

When the Round 3 coaches’ votes were unveiled, it was those six Blues who were named as the standout contributors from the narrow victory.

Unsurprisingly it was Fitzpatrick who led the way for Carlton, posting her second consecutive perfect 10 to close within eight votes of the lead.

The speedster was brilliant, kicking two goals to go with 23 disposals in a clear best-on-ground showing.

The next best Blue was Abbie McKay, collecting a team-high 26 disposals to go with her six clearances to poll four votes. She was closely followed by vice captain Mimi Hill, whose clutch goal was the standout moment in her 23-disposal showing.

It means Hill has polled votes in all three games so far this season, as has new recruit Claudia Whitfort, who was combative with seven tackles to go with her first-quarter goal.

Rounding out the votes were Jess Good and Dayna Finn, who received a vote each in the one-goal win.
