Hannah Scott and Octavia Di Donato have shared 2026 Carlton VFLW Best and Fairest honours, finishing level at the top of the count, both winning their first VFLW Best and Fairest Award.

Scott and Donato were recognised for their stellar seasons, with the midfield duo playing key roles in the Blues rise up the ladder and return to finals football.

In just her second season at Carlton after transitioning from the Northern Knights, Scott emerged as one of the premier midfielders in the competition, averaging 27 disposals and 15 contested possessions across her 12 matches, earning herself a spot in the VFLW Team of The Year.

Di Donato was just as influential throughout the 2026 season, her consistency and defensive pressure being key parts of her game, while also contributing in the attacking half, kicking a career high six goals while averaging 21 disposals per game.

Finishing Runner up was ruck Ellie Sbeghen.

Sbeghen featured in 14 matches for the Blues, averaging 31 hit-outs and 12 disposals per game, impressing most during VFLW captain Grace Matser’s stint on the sidelines.

Her season was further recognised with the Coaches award.

Rounding out the podium was mid-forward Zoe Larkins.

Larkins brought a wealth of skill and experience in her first year as a blue.

She showcased her elite ball winning and goal kicking capabilities, particularly in the Round 12 clash against Casey, notching up 32 disposals and six tackles, and the Round 13 match against Tasmania, with 20 disposals and two goals.

Grace Matser was recognised with the Blue Collar Award after a season which showcased her leadership on and off the field.

Matser was impressive early in the season, before suffering an injury in Round 3 that sidelined the ruck for a lengthy period. The co-captain remained an important figure around the Blues, continuing to provide leadership and support to teammates.

Matser’s return came in Carlton’s elimination final against Port Melbourne, where she was one of the Blues best, kicking two goals.

Youngster  Alana Mulvahil and Katelyn Busuttil were both recognised as Carlton’s Best First Year Players after their impressive debut seasons.
