Carlton midfielder Erone Fitzpatrick will stay at IKON Park until at least the end of 2030 after signing a contract extension.

A blistering, attack-minded midfielder, Fitzpatrick is a cornerstone of Carlton's midfield and leadership group, a dangerous ball-winner who combines elite pace and endurance with an eye for goal, averaging 4.6 inside 50s per game and 51 score involvements in nine matches this season, leading Carlton in both.

Earlier this year the Irish star earned the call-up to represent Ireland in the Australia v Ireland match before backing it up with a career-best start to the season.

Her form was on-show early, collecting 30 disposals, laying eight tackles and recording three clearances in the Blues' first home game of the year against Adelaide.

Fitzpatrick put her name on the map from the outset, playing all 10 games in her debut season and earning the 2023 Rookie of the Year award after a superb first campaign.

After missing the entirety of 2024 with an ACL injury, Fitzpatrick returned in just her second season of football to earn a place in the All-Australian squad and finish third in the 2025 Best and Fairest.

Fans get to watch Fitzpatrick flying down the wing in the Navy Blue for at least four more years and have many more opportunities to hear the Carlton roar getting louder with every stride as she streams into inside 50.

Head of AFLW Eleni Valos said the Club was thrilled to have Fitzpatrick commit to Carlton long term.

"Erone is one of the most exciting players in the competition and her form is only getting better. Her ability to break lines, find the ball and cleanly evade her opponent sets her apart,” Valos said.

"Since arriving in Australia, she has fully embraced everything this program stands for. Erone is a fierce competitor, a wonderful teammate and a leader who makes everyone around her better.

"She is only in her third year of playing football which just shows how much growth she still has. We can’t wait to see what Erone can bring over the next four years and beyond."
