In a few years’ time, Bluebaggers could very well look back on 2019 as the making of Sam Petrevski-Seton.

Despite having played every game in 2018, the season just gone was very much a breakout season for the smooth mover, performing a number of roles with aplomb in Navy Blue.

One of only three Blues to have played every game this year, Petrevski-Seton comfortably achieved career-high averages for disposals while also shining in new surrounds. It was the kind of year which will have Carlton supporters desperate for more.

BEST PERFORMANCE

Late in the season, Petrevski-Seton flourished across half back, putting in promising performances against Adelaide and reigning premier West Coast.

However, it was his game early in the year against the Western Bulldogs which was his best for the year.

Playing in midfield, Petrevski-Seton was Patrick Cripps’ partner-in-crime. With 35 disposals and a goal, it was a career-best game from the Halls Creek Cowboy, as Carlton opened its account for the season.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Petrevski-Seton showed his poise and class in a big moment back in Round 6.

Although Carlton was outdone by Hawthorn in Tasmania, the No.5 stood up at a crucial time. Receiving the handball receive from Cripps, Petrevski-Seton gathered, snapped and converted in a flash to bring the Blues back within a goal.

THEY SAID IT

Assistant coach Dale Amos was full of praise for Petrevski-Seton when speaking to Carlton Coaches’ Corner.

“He’s one of those players where if you get the ball in his hands, the game almost stops a little bit,” Amos said.

“This year has certainly been a breakout year for him.”
