UNDER drizzly conditions on Tuesday night, the Game Changers underwent their final open training session of the pre-season ahead of Friday night’s AFLW season opener against Collingwood.

The girls stepped onto the newly resurfaced Ikon Park for the first time before hitting it out on Princes Park in front of loyal supporters.

Star forwards Darcy Vescio and Tayla Harris trained superbly, while speedster Maddison Gay made her presence felt as she pushes to make her AFLW debut.

Youngster Georgia Gee and draftee Sophie Li’s skills were impressive by foot, as they also look to potentially debut Friday night.

Captain Brianna Davey and joint vice-captain Sarah Hosking provided a strong vocal presence, leading the session from the front and showing positive signs for the culture of the playing group.

Coach Damien Keeping will have several selection headaches this week, with a full squad available to line up for Round 1.

The girls will have a final run-through on Thursday night before kicking off their AFLW 2.0 campaign in front of home fans from 7:45pm (AEDT) at Ikon Park on Friday night.
