Senior Coach, Brett Ratten also lent his support for the luncheon, which saw Mr Grossi share his culinary skills with the buddying young apprentices at the St Kilda Youth Services Centre in South Melbourne.
As part of the HEAT program run by the St Kilda Youth Service (SKYS), the students used the opportunity as vital work experience, which they are required to complete as part of their William Angliss Institute - Certificate II in Hospitality.
Clients of SKYS may be homeless, offenders, subject to protective orders by the State, disengaged from mainstream education institutions or suffer drug and alcohol difficulties.
The Carlton Football Club was proud to support SKYS, as an organisation that serves the community by conducting a range of specialised programs for disadvantaged or at-risk youth within the City of Port Phillip and neighbouring areas.
“This is a great opportunity to provide support to the community and hopefully our visit will add to the positive work being done by Guy Grossi and the St Kilda Youth Services Centre. It was a bonus to enjoy a wonderful meal cooked by the youth under the watchful eye of a true Carlton supporter in Guy Grossi,” said Michael Jamison.
