Armfield was on crutches after the game and had his injured foot in a ‘moon boot’ for a couple of days in a bid to speed up the recovery from the injury. Combined with the treatment he has received from Carlton’s Elite Performance Unit, specifically the medical and rehabilitation teams, he has been selected in Saturday’s team to play Melbourne.
“When you leave a game on crutches you are not too confident about playing the next week,” said Armfield after training on Wednesday.
The crutches and the moon boot are all part of the rehabilitation, starting with keeping the weight off the injured foot. While this is the easy part, the work by our doctors and physiotherapists has been fantastic and having the use of the aquatic facilities at Visy Park has certainly aided my recovery,” added Armfield.
The fact Dennis has been able to recover as well as he has also speaks volumes for his dedication, ensuring he did everything he could to be fit for this Saturday’s match.
