THE Carlton Football Club has been informed of the AFL’s decision to proceed with implementing a no-crowd policy for the remainder of the AFLW season and upcoming AFL season for the foreseeable future.

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the Club is understanding of the decision, which will take effect at tomorrow night’s Rd 6 AFLW match against Melbourne in Alice Springs in response to the COVID-19 situation.

“The health and safety of our people, including our loyal members, players and staff remains the Club’s number one priority," Liddle said.

“We’re disappointed we won’t be able to see our loyal Northern Territory members and fans at tomorrow night’s game, as well as our Round 1 season opener at the MCG, however as a club, we will continue to ensure the overall health of our people is protected.

“We are undertaking a number of proactive steps at club level to ensure the protection of our members and fans, while also ensuring every possible step is taken to minimise the potential risk of COVID-19 through the football club.

“We appreciate the understanding of our loyal members and supporters and will continue to provide updates as information comes to hand.”
