MADDY Prespakis and Tayla Harris have both been recognised for impressive 2020 campaigns, being named in the womens.afl 2020 Team of the Year.

It is another honour for Prespakis who was also named as the womens.afl Player of the Year earlier this week and currently sits second in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year standings.

The gun midfielder didn’t miss a beat in her second season at Carlton, able to shake off additional attention she received weekly from opposition midfielders attempting to nullify her impact.

Still yet to miss a game since debuting in 2019, the 19-year-old drove the Blues forward through her massive work rate, clean possessions and football smarts.

Star forward Harris also enjoyed one of her most consistent seasons to date finishing with eight goals for the year.

Harris’ role and impact was integral to the team’s success, with the 22-year-old using her supreme athleticism to provide a strong marking option higher up the ground.

Her 12 contested marks were the equal-first in the competition for the year, while her 31 score involvements demonstrates just how important she was to the Blues’ ability to score.

Both Prespakis and Harris featured in the womens.afl Team of the Week on several occasions throughout the year, leading to their selection in the overall Team of the Year.
