OVERVIEW

Jess Hosking may have missed the first game of the season, but the tough-as-nails defender didn’t miss a beat after that.

Replacing the injured Jayde Van Dyk in Round 2, Hosking held her spot for the remaining six games of the season, forming a key part of Carlton's crucial defensive set-up.

With her trademark crushing tackles and relentless play around the contest, Hosking played with the same tenacity and toughness that Blues’ fans have come to love and expect from the 24-year-old.

Averaging a career-high for disposals, marks and tackles, Hosking can look back on 2020 knowing that she once again took a leap forward in her development as a player.

BEST PERFORMANCE

It may have been hot and humid conditions when the Blues took on the Demons in Alice Springs, but it was Hosking who was bringing the heat.

The defender recorded a career-best eight tackles, making it near impossible for the Melbourne forwards to gain any momentum.

Hosking’s pressure and persistent pursuit of the opposition made all the difference, as she proved to be an essential cog in Carlton’s well-oiled defensive machine.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

The beauty of football is that it can address things far more than just the game itself.

It was a special moment when Jess Hosking and sister Sarah ran out for the third annual AFLW Carlton Respects Game with ambassador Simone O'Brien running alongside them.

It showed the true 'All of Us' nature of the Hosking sisters, the Game Changers and all involved in the Navy Blue.
