THE CARLTON Football Club has signed a further six players to its new standalone reserves side for next year.

Cooper Stephens, Stefan Radovanovic, Lachie Potter, Aaron Gundry, Lachie Bond and Edward Delany will all pull on the Navy Blues guernsey next year in the new-look 2021 VFL and East Coast second-tier competition.

Stephens is a former Geelong NAB League Premiership Captain while Radovanovic is a best and fairest winner with the Western Jets as a big-bodied midfielder/half back.

Potter is blessed with elite speed out of the Northern Knights while Bond has also come through the NAB League pathway with the Bendigo Pioneers.

The Club has also signed two promising ruckmen in Gundry and Delany from the Pioneers and GMV Rebels respectively.

Today’s announcement means Carlton Reserves have had 14 players commit to the side, after also announcing eight signings on Friday – who all arrived at the Club with experience on AFL or VFL lists.

These players will play alongside the Blues’ AFL-listed players in the second-tier competition next season.

Carlton Reserves coach Daniel O’Keefe said everything was now in place for the side to become a crucial part of the Club’s development pathway.

“To now have a significant portion of the playing group locked away really sets us up to hit 2021 full of momentum,” O’Keefe said.

“Cooper, Stefan, Lachie Potter, Lachie Bond, Aaron and Edward are all talented players who want to take their game to the next level and we think the development program we now have in place will help them do that.

“In addition to the players we have signed, we also have a significant number of players training with us as they push for a place on our list for next year. Those guys have been exceptional from the first session we came together, which is a real credit to them and it shows the environment we are building is one that players really want to be a part of.

“Making sure our players reach their full potential is a clear focus for us but so is winning games. We want this side to have a big say in bringing success to our football club and hope our members and supporters can enjoy watching the Carlton reserves in action again.”
