CARLTON will once again open the 2021 season, with the AFL today confirming the Round 1 fixture.
The Blues will resume their traditional Round 1 clash with the Tigers on the night of Thursday 18 March (7:25pm) at the MCG.
Carlton will look to welcome back its loyal fans to the MCG for the traditional Opening Round clash, with both clubs to continue the share of revenue after a renewed gate-share agreement prior to 2018.
It will be the 13th time the two clubs have opened the home-and-away year since being introduced in 2008.
The confirmation comes shortly after the announcement for the 2021 AFLW season which will see the Blues also open the season against traditional rivals Collingwood.
Carlton will be looking to showcase its off-season acquisitions including Adam Saad and Zac Williams against the reigning premiers, as the Blues look to kick off their 2021 campaign with a win.
The remainder of the 2021 fixture is set to be announced in the coming days.
