THE team is in - presented by Virgin Australia - for Thursday night’s season opener, with 22 named and one to come.

Carlton’s starting 18 and interchange has been confirmed for tomorrow night’s clash with Richmond, with Levi Casboult, Harry McKay, Jack Newnes and Jacob Weitering all cleared to play.

Weitering was deemed fit last week, while Casboult, McKay and Newnes all emerged unscathed from training in the build-up to tomorrow night.

Casboult and McKay will be the tall targets in attack alongside Jack Silvagni, while Weitering will once again hold down the fort in defence alongside trusty sidekick Liam Jones.

It was confirmed earlier on Wednesday morning that Lachie Fogarty and Adam Saad would make their Navy Blue debuts in front of 50,000 fans against the reigning premiers.

The Blues will be without Jack Martin on Thursday night, with the forward unavailable for the season opener due to calf tightness.

While the 22 has been confirmed, what is yet to be determined is who will take on the role of medical substitute.

Announced by the AFL on Wednesday, the sub will be announced an hour before the bounce. It will be one of Carlton’s four emergencies: Matthew Cottrell, Matthew Kennedy, potential debutant Oscar McDonald or Liam Stocker.

Tomorrow’s game begins at 7:25pm.
