THE VFLW Blues will be bolstered by an influx of AFLW-listed Game Changers for their Round 9 clash with Essendon on Saturday morning.

With the AFLW season formally wrapped up and a number of senior players completing training blocks, the VFLW side will be able to take advantage of available talent.

Carlton will take four changes into the weekend’s clash away from home, eager to get back on the winner’s list after consecutive losses.

The Blues’ back line will be bolstered by standout defender Charlotte Wilson, fresh off her most consistent season yet in Navy Blue.

Also named in Carlton’s backline is 2020 AFLW draftee Daisy Walker after playing six senior games in 2021.

The midfield has also received extra star power, with Grace Egan and Abbie McKay named in the line-up for Round 9.

Egan and McKay both played all nine senior games in 2021, with Egan finishing in the top 10 for Carlton’s top honours and McKay earning a Round 3 NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination in a breakthrough season.

Missing Saturday’s clash at Windy Hill will be Winnie Laing (managed), Mikayla Barnes (injured), Sarah Ingram (omitted) and Jasmine Ware (injured).

Head down to Windy Hill on Saturday 1 May at 11am to see the VFLW Blues in action against the Bombers.'
