OVERVIEW

Mimi Hill streamed onto the AFLW scene in 2021, making her debut for the club in Round 1 against Collingwood.

Building a name for herself amongst the 2021 draft crop, Hill played six games before rupturing her left ACL in the Blues’ Round 6 win over Geelong, the injury prematurely ending her rookie season.

Rewarded for her efforts in the midfield, Hill was bestowed this season’s Best First Year Player at Carlton’s 2021 AFLW Best and Fairest night.

BEST PERFORMANCE

Despite the Blues suffering a tough loss to North Melbourne in Round 5, Hill starred as Carlton’s best afield.

Kicking her first two AFLW goals at York Park, Hill also finished the game with a season-high eight kicks and three marks.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Hill snatched her first AFLW goal in the last quarter of Carlton’s match on the island state.

Down by 11 points in the last quarter, Hill’s first goal was the perfect example of how second efforts can pay off.

Running onto the ball after it was nudged into space by Nicola Stevens, Hill was immediately pushed off the ball by the North Melbourne’s Tahlia Randall. Wheeling back for a second attempt, Hill scooped the ball off the deck following a Kaitlyn Ashmore fumble and ran towards open goal.
