OVERVIEW

Breann Moody finished her fifth season in Navy Blue as one of the competition's premier rucks, her work at the centre bounce over nine games widely acknowledged.

Eclipsing her career hitout average, Moody finished the season with an average of 18.9 hit outs per game - fourth in the league in the stat.

Moody finished the year on a high, earning All-Australian selection as well as finishing eighth in Carlton's 2021 best and fairest awards.

BEST PERFORMANCE

Moody was one of several Blues to have a day out at Metricon Stadium in Round 8, her dominant work in the centre kicking off a scoring flurry that saw her side finish with the league's highest ever score.

Racking up 22 hit outs in the ruck, Moody's work didn't stop there: she was tireless around the ground to finish with 16 disposals, six marks and her own goal against the Suns.

While it was hard to go past Darcy Vescio for player of the match with her five goals, Moody finished among the best in Carlton's second-to-last game of its 2021 campaign.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Breann Moody took her game to a new level in 2021 and in doing so has made her first All-Australian team.

Moody has elevated herself to one of the elite rucks of the competition, surpassing all her counterparts in marks, third in disposals and fourth in hit-outs to recapture the form that saw her become a Best and Fairest winner in 2018.

Her athleticism right across the ground was also a standout as she simply got better as the season progressed, recoding more than  20 hit outs in each of the final four games.
