"OH SILVAGNI!"

Jack Silvagni and Sam Walsh enjoyed strong performances in the win over Collingwood, and their respective individual moments have received acclaim.

The duo have been nominated for the Mark and Goal of the Year for Round 18.

In an emotional week for the Silvagni family, Jack took to the skies in the final term, soaring above Pies opponent Isaac Quaynor to haul in the textbook definition of a speccy.

Following the passing of his beloved grandfather Sergio Silvagni, the timing and opponent couldn't have been more poignant: it was 33 years ago this month when father Stephen took the 1992 Mark of the Year against the old enemy on the MCG.

Silvagni wasn't the only one to get the nod, with Walsh's final-quarter major marking his second nomination in three weeks.

Gathering the ball at speed, Walsh shrugged off two Collingwood challengers and slammed the ball on his boot from deep in the left forward pocket.

Sailing straight over the goal umpire, it put Carlton 13 points ahead and well and truly on the way to a 128th victory over the Magpies.
